Around 111 persons were held for various offenses under the “Oplan Rid Our Streets of Drunkards and Youths (RODY)” conducted by the Bulacan Police Provincial Office (PPO) on Tuesday night.
Bulacan PNP acting provincial director Senior Supt. Chito G. Bersaluna said ‘Oplan RODY’ was originally formed during his term as Chief Of Police in Caloocan and re-organized in Bulacan to get rid of bystanders, violating curfew of village ordinances, drinking in the streets and roaming shirtless or half naked.
The operation RODY nets 58 persons for drinking outside or in the streets, 37 persons for curfew, 15 bystanders and one half naked.
Bersaluna said that 52 of it were turned over to barangays, 21 to their parents/ guardians, 26 were given warnings and 12 were held at the police stations and were under investigations.
The police director added ‘Oplan Rody’ will be conducted in 21 towns and 3 cities by their respective municipal and city police stations everyday and implements day and night. –ELOISA SILVERIO
