Pineda gives educational aid to 1,407 scholars

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Governor Lilia ‘Nanay’ Pineda urged graduating scholars of the province to follow their hearts in choosing their careers.

“After your graduation, gamitin niyo ang puso ninyo at pinag-aralan para mas makatulong sa inyong mga pamilya,” Pineda added.

She bared this during the recent distribution of Educational Financial Assistance Program (EFAP) to some 1,407 students of the province, amounting to P7 million.

The lady governor was assisted by Board Members Fritzie David-Dizon (ex-officio member), Benny Jocson and Cherry Manalo (1st District), Anthony Joseph Torres and Salvador Dimson Jr. (2nd District), Rosve Henson (3rd District) and Nelson Calara (4th District), Provincial Library Officer Bessie Makabali, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) Head Angie Blanco and Provincial Investment Promotion Office (PIPO) Head Engr. Lulu Alingcastre.

Henson told the scholars to “focus on their studies, help in the community and be an example and influence to the youth.”

“The provincial government is always open para sa mga pangangailangan ng mga Kapampangan, lalo na sa pag-aaral ninyong mga kabataan,” Dizon also added.

With this, Torres said that the number of youth involved in illegal drugs will be lessened and hopefully will be dissolved soon, which is what Vice Governor Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda is advocating – as a support to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s fight against illegal drugs.

Moreover, Jocson and Manalo congratulated the beneficiaries for maintaining their scholarship.

Meanwhile, Dimson and Calara encouraged them to be confident and never doubt themselves in pursuing their chosen careers.

Landbank officials headed by Assistant Vice President Rogelio Samia, who is also present during the distribution, assisted the students in encashing the cheques on the same day. –Leah Isidro De Fiesta
