CIAC Commendation for Inter-Agency Partners

Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) OIC/Acting President and CEO Alexander Cauguiran awards Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Belgian Malinois sniffing dog, Buddy, a medal as the canine was instrumental in the detection and subsequent apprehension of suspected drug courier Alan Soo Joo on August 28 at the Clark International Airport. A total of 2.3 kilos of high-grade cocaine, with an estimated street value of P18 million, was seized from the foreign suspect. Looking on is PDEA Region III Director Emerson Margate and canine handler Carlito Miguel, who represented Buddy’s handler Lee Ayrick Balong, who were also awarded Certificates of Commendation. Also awarded during the flag ceremony at the CIAC Corporate Offices on Monday for their role in the arrest were the Bureau of Customs (BoC), Bureau of Immigration (BI), the PNP-Aviation Security Unit 3, and the Office of Transportation Security (OTS) officials and personnel stationed at the Clark International Airport.
