Camp General Alejo S. Santos, City of Malolos, Bulacan — Three suspects were arrested, while illegal drugs with estimated worth of 1.5 million pesos and firearms were seized during a COMELEC checkpoint conducted by DRT Police Station in Barangay Pulong Sampalok, Doña Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan on Wednesday night.
Bulacan Police Provincial Office director Sr. Supt. Chito Bersaluna identified the arrested suspects as Joselito Isidro y Dela Cerna, 30, single, resident of Brgy, Poblacion, Baliuag, Bulacan; Jerome Jay Niño Silverio, 26 resident of Brgy, San Pedro, Bustos, Bulacan and Florida Alipio, 46, resident of Brgy, Poblacion, Baliwag, Bulacan.
Based on the report of DRT MPS during a joint COMELEC Checkpoint conducted by the personnel of DRT MPS together with the members of 48th IB Phil Army, a green Mitsubishi lancer with plate number FEX 206 was flagged down.
Upon turning on the vehicles cabin light, the checkpoint team saw in plain view the driver without an upper garment.
The team asked for the driver’s license but he was not able to present any where also seen during the plain view inspection was one Ingram Sub Machine Pistol on the driver’s seat.
When asked again for its pertinent documents the suspects were not able to show any, this prompted the checkpoint team to immediately arrest the suspects.
When searched, the police discovered one bag containing a cal 9mm pistol Norinco and six pieces transparent plastic cellophane of different sizes containing illegal drugs (shabu) weighing more or less 210 grams with an estimated value of 1.5 million pesos.
Criminal charges of Violation of Section 5 (Transporting), Section 11 (Possession) of RA 9165, Violation of RA 10591 in Relation to the Omnibus Election Code and RA 4136 are being readied for filing in court against the arrested suspects.
