ORION, Bataan – PTT Philippines Foundation Inc. along with their friends from the public and private sectors on Saturday morning distributed relief goods to hundreds of families victimized by a huge fire last January 29, 2019.
In coordination with the office of Orion Municipal Mayor Antonio L. Raymundo, Jr. and businessman Rudy Santiago, the distribution was held at the PTT gas station here in Orion town.
Some of the top officials of PTT led this activity as part of their corporate social responsibility tagged as Mission of Hope, namely: Manat Rodthanong
Manager of Logistics and Operations PTT Philippines Corporation; Khwanchai Saisithong
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
PTT Phils. Trading Corporation; and Amancio Joaquin, Senior Manager
MIS/ICT of PTT Philippines Corporation.
With the intention of helping build and develop a better society, PTT Philippines Foundation Inc. (PTTPFI) was envisioned to provide corporate social responsibility programs and advocacies in education, environment and natural resources, improving health conditions and sustainable development thru livelihood programs, poverty alleviation and social progress in the Philippines.
Around 6,200 individuals or 1,018 families living in Sitio Depensa of Barangay Capunitan were displaced after the fire razed almost 800 houses and killed a 35-year-old man last Tuesday.
The evacuees are presently inside the Bataan School of Fisheries where they were visited by Bataan Governor Abet Garcia and celebrated his birthday with them. Garcia alloted P10 million from the Provincial Government funds for the affected families.
Former special assistant to the president (SAP) Bong Go joined Gov. Garcia and Bataan 1st District Congresswoman Geraldine B. Roman in the distribution of financial assistance.
Congresswoman Roman gave P100 thousand additional cash money for the victims.
Mayor Tonypep Raymundo said the municipal council has authorized him to declare a state of calamity to allow him to disburse appropriations from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction fund for relief and rehabilitation operations and other expenses.
