CDC to join Earth Hour celebration

CLARK FREEPORT— Clark Development Corporation will join the celebration of Earth Hour, an environmental  movement of the WWF International, to protect the world from further environmental degradation.

But this year, the commemoration of the Earth Hour in this Freeport will be held at the Commercio Central at the Clark parade Grounds on March 30.The engineering services of CDC said that many of the street lights inside the Freeport will be turned off during the celebration of Earth Hour.

While the Global Linkages for the Filipino Youth will host another #Connect2Earth event with WWF – Philippines.

The event is now on its second year.Some 100 pieces of carefully crafted candle holders made from coconut shell with lahar sand lighted the grounds of Comercio Central — dubbed as the tourism and lifestyle hub of Pampanga.

The event is also supported by the Department of Tourism Region III, WWF Philippines, Global Linkages for the Filipino, Creative, and Balik Pinas Saya.

Also joining are the communities from the cities of Mabalacat and Angeles.Along with this, DENR Regional Director Lormelyn Claudio Ceso IV and EMB is launching its Refill Revolution program.

Earth Hour is a global environmental movement of WWF, aimed at inspiring and empowering individuals, businesses, organizations, and governments to take tangible action for the planet.

It has grown from a symbolic event in Sydney 2007 to the world’s largest grassroots environmental movement spanning over 7,000 cities and 180 countries and territories.

As the movement grows, the one-hour lights-out event continues to be the symbol of a broader commitment toward the planet.
