High-value target, cohort busted in Iligan City; P1.2M worth of shabu seized

A high-value target drug personality and his cohort were arrested during a buy-bust operation in Iligan City that also resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, worth Php 1,200,000.00.

 Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Aaron N. Aquino identified the suspects as Mahdi Lucas Mapandi, alias Michael Lucas, and Cosary Amintao Azis, alias Mama Arab.

The suspects were arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by joint operatives of PDEA Regional Office X (PDEA RO X) under the supervision of Director Wilkins M. Villanueva, and local police at around 8:00 AM on September 9, 2019 in National Highway, Barangay Suarez, Iligan City.

Seized during the operation were two pieces of large knot-tied transparent plastic cellophane containing suspected shabu and one piece of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet, weighing more or less 250 grams, with an estimated value of Php1,200,000.00, and the buy-bust money.

The suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
