AC studes bag award in Denmark Robotics Olympiad

ANGELES CITY – The Team Nexus of Living Stone International School from this city bagged 4th place in the recent World Robot Olympiad Friendship Invitational (WROFIT) 2019 in Denmark.

Krischell Anne Faust, Amelia Fernandez, and Paolo Palanisamy, members of Team Nexus, are the representatives of the Philippine Robotics National Team for Smart Cities Junior High Open Category.

The team presented their project City Urban Discoveries and Development or CIUDAD, which aims to provide solutions to every city’s obstacles such as air and water pollution, as well as renewable energy.

Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr., commended the team, as well as the school, for bridging the students in world technology.

Moreover, he suggested to assist them in redeveloping the project.

“This project is good; it will surely help the community if will be redeveloped. These students are the key to the country’s betterment,” the Mayor added.

Meanwhile, according to Nike Cunanan, Nexus Coach, the inspiration behind the project was the earthquake which hit Pampanga last April.

The students, who personally experienced the tragedy with deaths, injuries and missing people in in the province, came to develop the said project, he added.

Team Nexus competed with 90 more participants from all over the world.
