MALOLOS CITY (PIA) — North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) are ready to accommodate the expected increase in traffic volume as the nation observes Undas.
In a press briefing, Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation Senior Vice President for Communication Romulo Quimbo said they have increased the RFID lanes in Bocaue and Balintawak thereby increasing the total electronic toll collection lanes to 40.
Quimbo also announced that construction along NLEX and SCTEX are suspended up to November 4 unless safety repairs are necessary.
Starting yesterday, October 25, NLEX and SCTEX traffic operation personnel closely monitor and manage the anticipated surge of motorists in Balintawak, Mindanao Avenue, Bocaue, Sta. Ines, Tarlac and Tipo toll plazas.
From October 26 to November 2, the Balintawak plaza will open a maximum of 24 toll collection points while Mindanao Avenue, Tarlac and Tipo plazas will open 10, 15 and 6 collection points respectively to lessen motorists waiting time.
From November 1-4, the Bocaue toll barrier will have a maximum of 55 collections points for Manila-bound motorists. (CLJD/VFC-PIA 3)
