‘Lawin’ cuts through Apayao, weakens

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Thursday morning downgraded Supertyphoon ‘Lawin’ to typhoon as it weakens.

Typhoon Lawin (international name ‘Haima’) has slightly weakened while traversing Apayao province, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

At 7 a.m., the eye of typhoon was located 40 kilometers northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte
