25 fugitives fall in CL

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — The Central Luzon police has intensified its campaign against persons with standing warrant of arrest leading to the capture of 25 fugitives during weeklong manhunt operations in the region, a top police official said in a statement over the weekend. 

Police Brigadier General Rhodel O Sermonia, director, Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3), earlier issued a directive to all police units to account all wanted persons especially those involved in high-profile crimes and illegal drugs trade.

“Let’s work for the safety of everyone, get all criminals on the streets including wanted persons,” said Sermonia in a directive dispatched to all police units in region 3.

This developed as lawmen in Pampanga and Special Concern Unit- Regional Intelligence Division (RID-SCU) have arrested Thursday night the province’s number one most wanted person in Porac town and in Angeles City.

Reports said that operatives from the Provincial Intelligence Branch of Pampanga police have arrested Daryll Dela Cruz, 32, of Barangay Tokwing around 9:30 in the evening of November 7, at Jose Lapid District Hospital, Sacan, Porac town.

RID-SCU operatives, meanwhile arrested Eduardo Rivera, Jr., 43, of Bgy. Manibaug Libutad, Porac, Pampanga.Dela Cruz was arrested by virtue of warrant issued by Third Judicial Region of Angeles City for murder and violation of the anti-illegal drug law.

Sermonia said that Dela Cruz was the prime suspect in the killing of Larry Tolentino, a construction worker way back in 2008 while Rivera is facing robbery and violation of the anti-Violence Against Women and Children Act.

Seven where arrested in Bulacan; four in Nueva Ecija; four in Pampanga; three in Bataan; three in Zambales; and, one each in Aurora, Tarlac and Angeles City.
