CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, PAMPANGA – Some 2,107 Nanay Community Workers (NCW) from the province’s fourth district benefitted from the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) with a total amount of P8,428,000.
The distribution was led by Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda on Thursday at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center, here.
Pampanga DOLE Chief Arlene Tolentino said that the program is aimed at providing the unemployed and displaced workers an emergency employment.
“They will be receiving a total of P4,000 in terms of salaries. Plus, we call it the personal protective equipment, which consists of the hat and the t-shirt na nagkakahalaga ng P350. Plus, ang beneficiaries natin ay ensured sa GSIS. So, all in all, the government will be spending a total of P4,400 for each beneficiary,” Tolentino said.
She also mentioned that “TUPAD program is still on-going. It costs P50-million benefitting 10,795 beneficiaries.”
Meanwhile, Governor Pineda said that as long as he is the one administering the province, NCWs will always be one of his priorities.
Joining the governor during the distribution were Alex Inza Cruz, DOLE-3 chief; Ma. Zenaida Campita, DOLE-3 director; Luningning Vergara, Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Manager; Dra. Ana York Bondoc-Sagum, former 4th district congresswoman; and Angelina Blanco, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) head.
