CLARK FREEPORT ZONE, Pampanga — 3rd Mechanized Infantry Battalion asked barangay officials in Zambales to support the initiatives of the national government in ending local communist armed conflict.
“With the convergence of our efforts, we can attain peace and development. Magtulong-tulong po tayo, supportahan natin ang National Task Force in Ending the Local Communist Armed Conflict (Let us help each other and support the National Task Force in Ending the Local Communist Armed Conflict,” 3rd Mechanized Battalion Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Norberto Aromin Jr to about 3,500 villages officials who attended the “Pagpapa-usbong sa mga Lider ng Barangay sa Lokal na Pamamahala tungo sa Pag-Unlad ng Pamayanan” (PULL-UP) held at ASEAN Convention Center.
PULL-UP consists of lectures and workshops which aims to assess the performance of barangay officials in good governance.
Aromin discussed Executive Order No. 70 series of 2018 or the whole-of-nation approach to end local communist armed conflict with emphasis on the Peace, Law Enforcement and Development Support Cluster.
In a statement, 7th Infantry Division Commander Major General Lenard Agustin reaffirmed the Army’s support to local government units in ending local communist armed conflict.
“With this kind of activities like the PULL-UP, we further strengthen our barangay officials and make them realize how important they are in our quest to achieve peace. Let’s continue to empower them and work with them, and together we’ll surely reach the state of peace we’ve all been longing for,” he said.
