Lazatin imposes curfew hours in AC

Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr. has ordered to impose a curfew from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM to minors in the city starting on March 16,2020 until further notice.

According to Mayor Lazatin, the 10-hour curfew is a public safety hour for Angeleños following the strict preventive measures of the local government against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), in line with the declaration of the highest alert level, Code Red Sub Level 2 in the country.

“Everyone seen to not follow will be sanctioned accordingly. We will not be lenient because this is a matter of public health concern,” said Lazatin.

The said order, according to Mayor Lazatin, is to contain public movements and potential risks of spreading the disease.

Furthermore, based on the Department of Health (DOH), it is advised to follow social distancing for the duration of the virus scare.

Mayor Lazatin also ordered business establishments allowed to operate in the city, since he temporarily closed nonessential establishements, to follow precautionary measures to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 as part of the Memorandum No. 511, Series of 2020.

“Monitor the temperature of all customers at the entrance of their establishments through the use of thermal scanners,” the memorandum states.

It also directed establishments to “sanitize and disinfect their establishments regularly” and “install hygiene / alcohol / hand sanitizing stations at the entrance of their establishments and other strategic areas.”

Moreover, establishments should also “have running water and soap / liquid soap readily available in restrooms at all times; “maintain sanitary practices, including proper waste disposal; and practice social distancing of at least one meter.”

Mayor Lazatin reminded businesses and the public to strictly follow the safety protocol set by the city government because it is all for the overall public safety.
