CDC, Widus Foundation donate P2M worth of PPEs, food packs

The Clark Development Corporation (CDC) and Widus Foundation, Inc. (WFI) have donated P2 million worth of groceries and personal protective equipment (PPEs) to various hospitals in Central Luzon’s two provinces.

The CDC and WFI have  recently distributed PPEs to frontliners in 16 government hospitals in Pampanga and Tarlac provinces amounting to P1.5 million. In addition, P500,000 worth of relief goods were also distributed to some 1,000 families.

In a letter addressed to CDC President-CEO Noel F. Manankil, Agnes A. Liwanag, WFI executive director, said, “true to its commitment to making a difference and serve the people in need, WFI is one with CDC in its goal to bring relief assistance to our Kabalens through CLARK CARES: Defining Precautions. Unifying Solutions.”

The public-private partnership aims to bring help to the vulnerable and underprivileged families, Aetas, senior citizens, Persons With Disabilities and ‘no work no pay’ workers and frontliners.

WFI and CDC have distributed 15,000 pairs of disposable gloves, 5,000 pieces of washable face masks, 2,000 pieces of head cap, 830 Cover All PPE. Other essential items for frontliners donated were 1,000 pieces face shield, 1,000 pieces eye protector, 39 pieces thermal gun meter and 5 pieces laryngoscope set.

Hospital beneficiaries are as follows: Pampanga Provincial Hospital: Diosdado P. Macapagal Memorial Hospital Pulmonary Center; Ospital Ning Angeles (Rafael Lazatin Memorial Hospital);  Ospital Ning Capas;  Health and Sanitation Division of CDC; Bamban Municipal Health Office; Candaba Infirmary Hospital; Dr. Emigdio Cruz Memorial Hospital; and  R.P Rodriguez Memorial Hospital (CSF, Pampanga).

Also receiving PPEs are Dr. Andres Luciano District Hospital;  Escolastica Romero District Hospital;  Mabalacat District Hospital; R.P Rodriguez Memorial Hospital Annex; Domingo B. Flores District Hospital; Jose Songco-Lapid Hospital; and San Luis District Hospital; and Romana Pangan District Hospital.

Aside from the PPEs, WFI and CDC also distributed grocery items to pre-identified families in Pampanga and Tarlac which include five kilos of rice, assorted canned goods, instant noodles and 3-in-1 coffee packs.

Other partners in the said Bayanihan against COVID-19 project were Clark CSR Association, Inc. (CCAI) and Philippines Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PagCor). Logistics, coordination and repacking of relief goods and PPE were handled by Corporate Social Responsibility, Placement Division; Estate Preservation and Recovery Department; and Assets and Management Division and Public Safety Department of CDC. 

Last week, various locator-firms have also donated various PPEs to local hospitals through the Clark Investors and Locators Association.  (With reports from Astrud Aguinaldo – CDC-CSRPD)
