A group of Chinese medical experts here in the Philippines has lauded the professionalism and dedication of Filipino health workers in combating the COVID-19 pandemic despite shortage in manpower and protective equipment.
“The medical staff in the Philippines are very professional. They are able to follow the standard protocol in the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 and the results of the treatment are good with a high success rate,” the group said during the press conference streamed live on CCTV Asia Pacific Facebook.
During the virtual presser, the Chinese group noted on the importance of quick detection and isolation of suspected patients, and early reporting and treatment of confirmed cases.
The medical experts said they are optimistic that the Philippines will be able to overcome this pandemic.
Last April 5, the team composing 10 medical experts and two officials arrived in the country to share their experiences in containing the novel coronavirus.
The Chinese government has also donated 300,000 surgical masks, 30,000 medical N95 masks, 5,000 medical protective suits, 5,000 medical face shields, and 30 non-invasive ventilators.
