CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Provincial government of Pampanga provided milk supplementation to about 470 Senior citizens.
Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) Head Elizabeth Baybayan said the milk distribution is part of the mechanisms of Governor Dennis Pineda to continuously deliver assistance to Senior citizens who are at a higher risk of severe illness amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
“Senior citizens are one of the vulnerable sectors of the society in this time of crisis that’s why the provincial government assured that help will be immediately extended to them,” Baybayan added.
World Health Organization said people over 60 years old are susceptible to COVID-19 due to their poor immune system caused by aging.
As such, PSWDO personnel visited the house of each beneficiary to know their condition and deliver the milk assistance. Priority was given to those who are sickly, frail, and bedridden.
A total of 28 beneficiaries received milk supplementation in Magalang; 22 – Floridablanca; 18- Guagua; 19 – Lubao; 20- Porac; 22- Sasmuan; 20 – Sta. Rita; 44- Arayat; 22- Bacolor; 24- City of San Fernando; 85- Mexico; 7- Sta. Ana; 42- Candaba; 22- Macabebe; 22- Masantol; 14- Minalin; 15- San Luis; 19- San Simon; and 5 Capitol employees.
Provincial Administrator Charlie Chua disclosed that the milk supplementation utilized came from the donation of Morgan Sy of Tokagawa Global Corporation.
Last April 6, Tokagawa provided the provincial government with 500 cans (900 grams) of wellness milk intended for the elderly.
