Taiwan government has rejected the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) move to deport a Filipina caregiver in Taiwan after criticizing President Rodrigo Duterte in her viral social media video post.
Taiwan News reported that foreign workers enjoy freedom of speech and should be respected by governments in all countries.
DOLE identified the video uploader as Elaner Egot Ordidor who is employed in Yunlin County.
Last April 20, members of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office met with Orgidor in Taichung to enlighten her that destabilizing the government is a crime punishable under the Philippine Law.
Orgidor said she will delete the video and post a video of her apologizing to the Duterte.
