“This collection of Selected Folk Songs in Region 3 is crafted to cater to the demand for music teaching and geared towards imparting knowledge to the students and developing their sense of history and cultural identity,” DepEd Regional Director Nicolas Capulong explained.
“The material is contextualized and developmentally-appropriate with complete and precise notation with chords and a minus one to suit the needs of every teacher in teaching music with ease and confidence in harmony with the content and performance standards of the K to 12 curriculum,” he added.
The compendium includes 6 folksongs from Aurora, 8 folksongs from Bataan, 11 folksongs from Bulacan, 15 folksongs from Nueva Ecija, 19 folksongs from Pampanga, 6 folksongs from Tarlac, and 37 folksongs from Zambales.
