MABALACAT CITY — Renters are set to receive grocery coupons worth P1,000 as part of the 3rd tranche of relief operations here.
This has been confirmed by Mayor Crisostomo “Cris” Garbo, who appealed to his constituents to observe social distancing during the distribution of assistance.
The mayor reminded every Mabalaqueño to claim their assistance, like the P1,000 worth of coupons, at the assigned date and time of distribution to avoid the spread of the virus.
Garbo said that while the grocery coupons have no expiration date, it has been highly advised by the Commission on Audit (COA) to use them on or before May 31, 2020.
Meanwhile, the mayor allowed tricycles as mode of transportation in the city, as long as they have a permit to operate from the city government
“But we strictly follow social distancing guidelines. Use of face mask is mandatory,” he stressed.
He said the city government will enforce a one strike policy on all tricycle drivers who will violate protocols and guidelines imposed through the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ).
“Minsan ka lang mahuli na hindi sumunod, we will cancel your permit immediately,” the mayor added.
In the city, the liquor ban has been lifted but no drinking in public, in strictly following MECQ guidelines.
