MANILA – Emperador Inc., the world’s largest brandy company, registered revenues of P51.6 billion in 2019, up 10 percent compared to the previous year.
Recurring net profit to the parent company also went up by 5 percent to P7 billion.
In a statement Wednesday, Emperador Inc. president Winston Co said “last year’s stellar performance is a continued testament to our premiumization and globalization strategy for our renowned brandy and whisky products ranging from mainstream to luxury sold in over 100 countries.”
The company said it was another “excellent year” for the Scotch whisky segment with the business again growing in every major region of the world.
Asia remained a strong driver of growth supported by great results across Europe and North America, it said.
Emperador said 2019 for the brandy business was also a year of accolades garnering 27 awards, adding Fundador brandy continued to expand around the world especially in the United Kingdom and Asia.
For local brandy, Co said “Emperador brandy remained at the helm of local liquor across the country particularly in key metro cities, while we strategically engaged in product innovations in response to the ever-changing consumer taste and preference.”
Publicly listed Emperador Inc. owns Emperador Distillers, Inc., Scotch whisky maker Whyte and Mackay Group, and Bodegas Fundador in Spain.
