Some 28 stranded missionaries from Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental in northern Mindanao had been finally sent home via the Clark International Airport on Monday morning.
On Sunday, the Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) said it will assist 11 stranded missionaries to the Clark airport.
The 11 were staying at the Ekklesia Church in Barangay Malabanias, according to ACPO spokeswoman Capt. Agnes Nolasco.
Five more stranded missionaries were staying on Porac town while another 12 were staying in the City of San Fernando.
All of the missionaries left today aboard AirAsia via the Clark International Airport.
Capt. Nolasco said all of them received relief goods from ACPO and Kandi Realty during their stay in Pampanga province.
The 28 were sent to Pampanga for missionary training but were stranded after the government enforced the Enhanced Community Quaranting (ECQ) in March 16, 2020 as coronavirus infections increase by the day.
They were supposed to leave for Oroquieta City on March 18.
Nolasco said all of the stranded missionaries benefitted from ACPO’s “Rektang Bayanihan, Adopt a Family Program” and “Balik Probinsiya” and “Libreng Sakay.”
