CITY OF SAN FERNANDO , Pampanga – Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda has recommended the extension of the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) in Pampanga province from July 1 to July 15.
This as cases of coronavirus of COVID-19 continue to rise which prompted the provincial government to ask the Inter-agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) to remain in the IATF’s classification under low risk provinces.
“Simula po ng nag MGCQ tayo ang case po natin ay biglang tumaas from 108 naging 133, so we have 25 confirmed cases, highest po ito sa history ng pandemic,” Pineda disclosed.
Pampanga, one of the provinces near Metro Manila has relaxed some road restrictions for economic movement since MGCQ begun. People coming thru and from the National Capital Region was one of the listed reasons of the spread of COVID-19 infection.
“Nung naopen po ang travel natin within Manila, balik trabaho, most of our cases nanggaling po sa Metro Manila,” Pineda said.
Pineda disclosed most of the reported cases were traders and those citizens who were neglecting calls from the government to just stay at home.
Recently a 3-year old child was infected by the virus because of visiting relatives. One case also was a trader who had infected other five individuals which was traced upon contact tracing.
Pineda appeals to his cabalens for cooperation in maintaining minimum health standards. He also calls for attention of employers doing SWAB test to temporarily house their employees 2-3 days until the swab test results were released to ensure they will not be a source of infection in the province.
The governor has reminded everyone that MCGQ is not a license to dilly dally outside home instead precaution must be exercised in its fullest to halt spread of the virus.
“Nililinaw ko po sa inyo, na hindi ibig sabihin na MGCQ tayo na pupwede na po kayong magsilabas at makipagkwentuhan sa either kamaganak or ibang tao, lalabas lang po kayo kung mayroon po kayong dapat bilhin na essential,” Pineda reiterated.
