The Dubai-based Emirates Airlines said it has phased out the last Airbus A330 and A340 from its fleet.
The Emirates Airlines retired A6-EAK, the last of its 29 Airbus A330s. The aircraft logged more than 60,000 flying hours and covered around 45 million kilometers in 14.5 years.
The A340, A6-ERN, had been in service for 12 years.
Emirates is now the only airline in the world to operate an all Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 fleet. Emirates operates 85 Airbus A380s and 160 Boeing 777s.
Since January 2015, Emirates has retired 18 A330s and five A340s even with all aircraft not even reaching the average service life at 16.5 years. Both aircraft have the industry standard retirement age of 25 years.
Emirates is awaiting delivery of 36 new aircraft November this year comprising 20 Airbus A380s and 16 Boeing 777s.
The delivery includes Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with upgraded business class seats and other features including a lower fuel burn ratio.
