CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Department of Health (DOH) reiterated the safety protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19 as Bulacan reverts to Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ).
Central Luzon’s most populous province joins National Capital Region, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal in returning to MECQ from August 4-18 as President Rodrigo Duterte heeded the call of healthcare workers for a “time out” as cases continue to surge in those areas.
“Constant observance of safety protocols such as the use of facemask when going out, frequent sanitation and hand hygiene, avoid touching surfaces and face, keeping safe distance of at least one meter apart, foregoing of non-essential travels, and staying at home as much as possible can help prevent everyone from acquiring the virus,” DOH Regional Director Cesar Cassion said.
Moreover, keeping one’s self healthy and strong by having a well-balanced diet, physical activities, and having enough rest and sleep can spare each one from being infected.
“DOH cannot do it alone, we need the whole-of-society approach. We need the cooperation of everyone to win this fight against COVID-19. We must do our part and continue doing our civic duty to save our fellow Filipinos from this unseen enemy. Let us follow our local leaders, always observe the recommended minimum health standards, and get information from credible sources. Together, let us end this crisis and start living a healthy lifestyle,” Cassion furthered.
Per Resolution No. 60-A of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, other areas in Central Luzon namely Aurora, Bataan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, Zambales, Angeles City and Olongapo City will remain under Modified General Community Quarantine from August 1-15.
As of August 3, the region has 2,384 confirmed cases.
