The City of San Fernando Health Office urged residents to seek early health consultation amid the continuing threat of the dreaded coronavirus or COVID-19.
Dr. Renely P. Tungol, City of San Fernando Health Officer and Incident Commander of the Emergency Operations Center, urged for Fernandino’s cooperation in containing COVID-19 by practicing good healthcare seeking behavior.
Healthcare seeking behaviour (HSB) is “any action undertaken by individuals who perceive themselves to have a health problem or to be ill for the purpose of finding an appropriate remedy.”
“Sa panahon ngayon, kailangan mayroon tayong magandang health-seeking behavior dahil hindi po natin alam na maaaring nakakuha na tayo ng COVID and before we know it, nakapanghawa na pala tayo,” Tungol said.
She advised Fernandinos to seek early consultation especially when experiencing fever, colds, coughs, and other symptoms of COVID-19.
The officer further encouraged those who had contacts with a confirmed case to ask assistance from the CHO or from the nearest health centers in their areas to also get the proper advice and treatment.
Meanwhile, Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago enjoined Fernandinos to be honest and responsible in their health conditions.
The city currently has a total of 92 active confirmed cases, 11 deaths and 230 recoveries.
The local government also continues to conduct testing activities with its partner laboratory which had already tested a total number of 2,548 as of September 07, 2020.
