TARLAC CITY — Book launch and photo exhibit are among the activities in Central Luzon in line with the celebration of Indigenous Peoples (IP) Month.
National Commission on Indigenous Peoples Regional Director Ruben Bastero said this year’s IP Month, which coincides with the 23rd anniversary of the passage of Indigenous Peoples’ Rights Act, carries the theme “Correcting Historical Injustices for Indigenous’ Peoples Rights and Welfare.”
“It highlights the prioritization of IP communities’ security and safety all-over the country,” he explained.
Three books featuring the profiles of IP groups in Central Luzon will be launched on October 29 as part of the Epanaw project.
Moreover, a photo exhibit will be put up in SM City Tarlac and SM City Cabanatuan.
“This exhibit aims to raise awareness and appreciation on the lives and culture of IP communities,” Bastero furthered.
Other activities include webinars and contests for IP students.
“We encourage you to attend the different activities we have prepared so you can also appreciate the lives of our Indigenous Peoples,” he added.
