PSA Region 3 conducts infographics contest

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) invites agencies to join its regional infographics contest.

PSA Regional Director Edgardo Pare said this is part of the observance of the National Statistics Month (NSM) this October, and carries the theme “Bridging Digital Gaps: Making Information Available to All.”

“The contest aims to foster and promote deeper appreciation on the importance of statistics,” he said. 

It is open to all members of the Regional Statistics Committee and Regional Census Coordinating Board, all Regional Line Agencies, and Provincial Statistics Offices. 

“Entries to be submitted should be those that have not won in other competitions or have been used for commercial purposes or published. Each participating agency or office is allowed to submit only one entry,” Pare said. 

They must likewise be in in JPEG or PNG file format with no watermark, and should not exceed 10 MB in size. 

“Entries should not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, intellectual property rights of any person or entity, and that no other party has any right, title, claim, or interest in the entry,” Pare said. 

Those who are interested to submit their entries at [email protected] until 11:59PM of October 16 using the file name format provincial office name or agency name and date submitted. 

Official entries will be published and posted at the official Facebook account of PSA RSSO III from October 17 to 23 as part of the judging. 

Entries shall be judged based on the following criteria: data and visualizations –20 percent; analysis and insights – 35 percent; creativity and originality – 20 percent; relevance to the theme — 10 percent; and number of likes – 15 percent.

The top 3 winners will be announced during the closing ceremony of  the NSM on October 29. Each will receive a plaque and certificate of recognition and tokens which will be delivered to their respective offices.
