Fun bike ride at SM Malls in Pampanga

With more and more of us turning to biking as a mode of transportation during the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ), SM Supermalls has created bike parking facilities across its malls.

With organized and secure parking zones designated solely for bicycles, SM hopes to make the riding experience safe and convenient for the growing number of bike commuters, especially in communities where SM malls are located. And the good news is that these spaces are currently free of charge.

For customers who enjoy the convenience of street-level parking, SM malls in Pampanga, Clark, Telabastagan and San Fernando Downtown are among the malls that offer bike parking areas near the mall’s entrance.

In Pampanga, bike enthusiasts enjoyed a 28-kilometer fun bike ride along McArthur Hi-way. The ride gun-start from SM City Pampanga with pit stop at SM City Telabastagan and eventually finished at SM City Clark.

The fun ride was led by SM Supermalls Assistant Vice President Engineer Junias Eusebio, North Luzon 4 Regional Operations Manager Andrea Madlangbayan, SM City Pampanga Mall Manager Aaron Montenegro and SM City Clark Mall Manager Jerwin Jalandoni with Angeles City Police Office Deputy City Director PCol. Kenneth Vega, Police Provincial Office Region 3 Community Affairs Division PLtCol. Romell Velasco and Ret. PSSupt. Danilo Bautista.

With over 100 invited biker enthusiasts enjoyed the ride with special participation from Police Provincial Office Region 3, City of San Fernando Public Order and Safety Coordinating Office (CPOSCO), Angeles City Police Office, Representatives from Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Municipality of Mexico.

With SM’s bike-friendly facilities, customers can look forward to a safe, convenient, and enjoyable biking experience. Importantly, SM aims to support inclusive mobility especially during the MECQ, and hopes to encourage more people to take up biking as a healthy and environment-friendly alternative means of transportation beyond the pandemic, which is part of SM’s Green Movement campaign promoting clean, green, sustainable communities.
