ANGELES CITY – 3.2 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu were seized during the intensified Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) of the Angeles City Police Office (ACPO).
Under the leadership of Police Colonel Joyce Patrick Sangalang, the ACPO conducted 367 police operations from September 17 to October 7, 2020 resulting in the apprehension of 195 persons, and the confiscation of P3,297,566.35 worth of illegal drugs. 43 of the 84 individuals arrested for illegal drug use were included in the ACPO’s Drug Watch List. A total of 21 wanted persons were arrested, including a member of the notorious Ramos group, involved in a series of robber incidents and illegal drug activities in Angeles City and neighbor municipalities.
A pro-active measure done by the ACPO, the SACLEO aims to pre-empt criminal activities, particularly illegal drug trade and illegal gambling, implement search warrants, recover loose firearms, and arrest wanted persons, violators of the Bayanihan Heal as One Act
PCol Sangalang vows to oversee the welfare and security of the city, amidst the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The ACPO will remain vigilant and relentless in its efforts to protect and serve the city, and fight all forms of criminality,” Sangalang said.
