Port of Subic wears orange, supports 18-Day Campaign to End VAW

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT- Officers and employees of the Bureau of Customs in the Port of Subic on Friday wear their orange-colored t-shirts in support of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW).

Port of Subic Collector Maritess Martin said to their support in the call to end violence against women in all forms each staff and officers of BoC Subic volunteered to wear orange-colored t-shirts.

 Martin explained that orange color was chosen by United Nation Secretary General as it’s campaign color to end VAW. “By wearing orange shirt, we keep in mind this year’s theme ‘VAW-free community starts with me’,” Martin said.

Spearheaded by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), The “18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women” is being observed from November 25 to December 12 annually as declared under Proclamation 1172, Series of 2006.

Martin noted that among the important factors that keep the Port of Subic maintains its excellent performance that resulted in surpassing its monthly revenue collection target for five consecutive months is the promotion of equal respect among staff, especially the women.

In the latest report, Port of Subic announced that it has already surpassed its 2020 Annual Collection Target as of end of November.

Based on preliminary data, the Port collected a total of P25,822,750,322.23 revenue as of the last day of November 2020. A 2.09% higher than its target of P25,293,015,679.17 for the whole year.

 The Port also collected and recovered a cumulative amount of Php 439,002,071.78 thru its liquidation and Billing Unit from January to November 2020.

The Port likewise exceeded its collection target for the month of November 2020 by 5.87% or a Php 134,951,619.96 surplus against the month’s target of Php 2,298,066,872.00.(Dante M. Salvaña)
