The Provincial Government of Bulacan commemorated its 443rd Founding Anniversary with a simple ceremony at the Bulacan Capitol in Malolos City amid the pandemic and rainy morning on Sunday.
Gov. Daniel Fernando together with Vice Governor Willy Alvarado, Board Members Romina Fermin, Jong Ople, William Villarica and Provincial History, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office Head Dr. Eliseo Dela Cruz led the wreath laying activity before the monument of Marcelo H. Del Pilar in front of the Provincial Capitol Building in the City of Malolos.
The governor said, the celebration is also portent of the opening of the Singkaban Festival 2021 this coming September with the theme “Paglingon, Paghilom, Pagbangon” which will be celebrated the activities through online.
“Mahalaga na patuloy natin gunitain ang Pagkakatatag ng Lalawigan ng Bulacan dahil makasaysayan ang bawat kaganapan sa ating probinsiya na pinamunuan ng mga magigiting na Bulakenyong bayani,” Fernando said.
The program started with a Holy Mass begun at 7:00AM administered by Bishop Deogracias Iñiguez with Bulacan priests followed by the wreath laying ceremony wherein only few local officials and capitol’s head departments and employees were present during the event as strict implementation of minimum health standard protocols were observed during the program.
The “Gawad Mariano Ponce 2021” was also awarded by Fernando through the Provincial Office of History, Arts, Culture and Tourism (PHACTO) to Dr. Jaime B. Veneracion, for his significant contribution in promoting the history of the Province of Bulacan and the whole country.
