Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed a disaster-resilient evacuation center in Dipaculao, Aurora.
The P7.7 million facility was turned over by Aurora District Engineering Office to officials of barangay Gupa.
District Engineer Roderick Andal said that although Gupa is not included in the list of areas in the province that are most exposed to natural hazards, the construction of a barangay evacuation center was prioritized to enhance emergency response.
Also, for recovery efforts of the local government during calamities.
“This disaster-resilient evacuation center has an evacuation space that can accommodate residents in case they will be needing a safer place during the occurrence of strong typhoons, severe flooding and other calamitous events that could threaten their lives,” he added.
The facility was inaugurated by Andal and Aurora Lone District Representative Rommel Angara.
