CSF enforces strict border controls amid Omicron threat

City of San Fernando Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago has issued Executive Order No. CMO 2022-02 enforcing stricter health and security protocols that started on January 9 up to January 15, 2022 in a bid to contain the spread of COVID-19 amid the threat of Omicron variant.

The City of San Fernando is now under Alert Level 3, according to Santiago.

Under Alert Lever 3, the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the City Public Order and Safety Coordinating Office (CPOSCO) designated border controls, where each individual entering the city is required to present the following:

– Valid ID/Vaccination Card

– and if not vaccinated, each person must show negative results of their RT-PCR within 48 hours.

Santiago said those who have not been vaccinated under the age of 11 will still stay at home.

Outdoor exercises are also allowed but only within the village, subdivision, barangay. Restaurants, malls, hotels are allowed to accept clients only with the allowed capacity.

Residents can buy alcohol but only allowed to consume it in their own homes. (Only among members of the same family)

Under Republic Act No. 11332, under sections 9 (D) and (E) on banned activities, all individuals or establishments that infringe this provision shall be subject to a penalty of at least P20,000 but not more than P50,000 or imprisonment for one to six months. in reference to section 10.

Forgery of a COVID-19 vaccination card is punishable under Republic Act No. 3815 or the Revised Penal Code as amended. Section 12 of Republic Act No. 11525, also known as the COVID-19 Vaccination Program Act of 2021.
