ANGELES CITY — All public school teachers from the 53 schools in Angeles City will be given Covid-19 booster shots in time for the resumption of face-to-face classes.
This, as the city government scheduled the deployment of its Ronda Bakuna Bus at the Angeles Elementary School on August 23, Tuesday, from 9:00AM to 4:00PM.
“Now that we are back to face-to-face classes, we need to put a priority on the safety of everyone in the classroom setting,” Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. said.
The Ronda Bakuna Bus will have on board doctors, nurses, medical technologists, health workers, and support staff from the City Health Office, Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, and Gender and Development Office.
Angeles City Schools Division Superintendent Ma. Irelyn Tamayo thanked the city government for looking out for the health, safety, and welfare of the teachers and students; and for bringing the vaccines closer to them.
For her part, City Health Officer Verona Guevarra said taking the booster shots will best protect the public from the [Covid] virus.
She said the Ronda Bakuna for public school teachers will be open for first and second booster shots.
As of August 11, a total of 403,187 Angeleños already received their first dose of Covid- 19 vaccines; 379,275 are fully vaccinated; while 87,798 got their first booster shots; and 6,232 were given second booster shots.
