Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed various infrastructure projects in Gerona, Tarlac.
It includes four multipurpose buildings (MPBs) located in barangays Matapitap, Luna, Danzo and Buenlag.
Tarlac 1st District Engineer Neil Farala disclosed that the agency earmarked a total of P26.41 million for the MPBs.
“They are part of DPWH’s Basic Infrastructure Program which aims to support the delivery of social services in the barangay level through infrastructure development,” he explained.
“We are pleased that the local officials and residents of the beneficiary barangays are satisfied with the completion of these multipurpose facilities and these are just some of the infrastructure projects that we will continue to implement in the town of Gerona,” Farala furthered.
Meanwhile, DPWH also completed the farm-to-market road (FMR) in barangay New Salem.
The P11.6 million infrastructure was funded under the convergence program of the agency with Department of Agriculture.
It covers the paving of a 740-lineal meter, two-lane road with reinforced concrete box culverts, and the construction of stone masonry to prevent slope collapse and damage to road pavements. (CLJD-PIA 3)
