Construction of a slope protection along Pagasa-Tala Road leading to Mt. Natib in Orani, Bataan is nearing completion.
It was implemented by Department of Public Works and Highways Bataan 1st District Engineering Office.
District Engineer Erlindo Flores Jr. said the P96.4-million infrastructure is 70 percent done as of September 15.
“Once completed, residents and tourists passing through the mountainous section of the road and heading to the town’s tourism sites such as Bataan National Park will be protected from possible landslides that may be caused by heavy rains,” he added.
The project entails construction of 3,265.59 square meters rockfall netting including hydroseeding along the landslide-prone segment of the road.
To control soil losses, the netting is anchored in Geotextile and Type I Erosion Control Mat. (CLJD-PIA 3)
