OLONGAPO CITY — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed the renovation of the multipurpose covered court of Old Cabalan Integrated School in Olongapo City.
The P4.8-million project covers expansion of the covered court, construction of two bleachers, and installation of court lights.
Zambales 2nd District Engineer Rosbe Dizon said this was implemented to support the infrastructure development of public schools as well as provide safe and secure venues for students and teachers when conducting their various activities and programs.
“With the reconstruction of the covered court, students and teachers can now use it for various school activities such as sports events, seminars, workshops, and conferences now that face-to-face classes have resumed,” Dizon added.
School Principal Mariane Fronda expressed gratitude for the improvement of the facility as it will provide more comfort to teachers and students during school activities or programs.
The project was implemented under DPWH’s Basic Infrastructure Program with funds sourced from the 2022 General Appropriations Act.
