SBMA holds 11th Recyclables Collection Event

The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) recently held the 11th Recyclables Collection Event (RCE) in a bid to collect plastic and hazardous electronic wastes in the freeport zone.

Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Senior Deputy Administrator for Regulatory Group Amethya Dela Llana receives used plastic pet bottles handed over by womens’ group representatives from Sitio Malingao, in Cawag Subic town, during the two-day 11th Recyclables Collection Event (RCE) organized by the SBMA Ecology Center held at the Mini Golf Course of the Subic Bay Freeport zone. Dela Llana receives the 30 WEE Collect electronic waste bins from Jovito Adriano, pollution control officer of Royal Duty Free Mall.

Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Senior Deputy Administrator for Regulatory Group head Amethya Dela Llana received used plastic pet bottles, light bulbs, car batteries, paint cans, electronic discards, and old air conditioners.

Dela Llana received the used plastic pet bottles from womens’ group representatives from Sitio Malingao, in Cawag Subic town, while Subic companies and their workers turned over discarded light bulbs, car batteries, paint cans, electronic discards, and old air conditioners. Most of the Subic firms support the move to make Subic freeport environment-friendly.

The two-day 11th Recyclables Collection Event (RCE) organized by the SBMA Ecology Center was held at the Mini Golf Course of the Subic Bay Freeport. 

Among the beneficiaries of the event includes the women’s group in Sitio Malingao.

Meanwhile, Dela Llana has also received the WEE Collect electronic waste bin from Jovito Adriano, pollution control officer of Royal Duty Free Mall during the event.

Around 30 WEE Collect electronic bins fabricated from discarded refrigerant tanks were turned-over to the agency. The bins will be used as dropboxes for hazardous electronic waste and will be placed at strategic areas in the Freeport zone. 

Also present during the event is Rosselle Abuyo, division chief of the Ecology Center.
