3rd Bataan ‘Super Health Center’ to rise in Samal

BALANGA CITY — The third Super Health Center in Bataan will soon rise in Samal town to provide comprehensive basic health services at the local level.

The P10-million worth infrastructure is a medium-sized polyclinic larger than a rural health center but not as big as a hospital that offers medical emergency, birthing, dental, X-ray and laboratory services.

Senate Committee on Health Chairperson Bong Go, who led the groundbreaking, emphasized that establishing a Super Health Center would help decongest other health facilities, as it will supplement rural health centers in the province.

“For the year 2022, there were 307 Super Health Centers in the country, and by 2023, the total will be 322, with seven to be built in Bataan,” he disclosed.

Meanwhile, Municipal Health Office Officer-In-Charge Ryan James Suguitan said the Samal Super Health Center aims to provide better services, particularly to towns in need of a good health center.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Bataan Governor Jose Enrique Garcia III, 1st District Representative Geraldine Roman, 1st District Board Member Tony Roman, Mayor Alexander Acuzar, Vice Mayor Ronnie Ortiguerra, Sangguniang Bayan members, and Department of Health regional and provincial officials.
