A 13-year old boy drowned while swimming in the Pampanga River during the celebration of Apung Iru Festival in Apalit town on June 28. Cesar Carlos, chief of the Apalit MDRRMO, said they received a report at around 1pm on Tuesday that the boy drowned while swimming in the Pampanga River. The boy’s body was recovered at around 1:57pm and immediately sent to the funeral parlor. Several individuals had drowned during the fluvial festival in Apalit town in the past years.
