City of San Fernando- The Pampanga Government through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) granted a total of P900,000 cash assistance to the families of the deceased centenarians at the Governor’s Office.
Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda personally handed the checks to the relatives of nine beneficiaries who received P100,000 each.
Pineda said the cash assistance will still be a great help to the families who paid for the hospital bills of the late elderlies who died in the hospital.
“Even though they are at peace now, at least this amount will help the families they have left behind,” Pineda added.
Families of the deceased elderlies who came from the towns of Magalang, Floridablanca, Lubao, Porac, Sta. Ana, Masantol, San Luis, Sto Tomas and this city, expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the lady governor.
In can be recalled that Ordinance 647 amended with Ordinance 663 which provides senior citizens who are 95 years old or above (and still alive) shall be granted a Php100, 000 cash incentive award.
Also assisted the governor are PCL President Olga Frances “Fritzie” David-Dizon, PSWDO Chief Elizabeth Baybayan and Provincial Treasurer’s Office headed by Susan Luna. –MA. REINA LEN LUNA/PIO
