Korean female tourist attempts suicide

A Korean woman on Tuesday was found unconcious for drug overdose in a hotel room in Angeles City, Pampanga.

Angeles City Police Director Col. Amado Mendoza  identified the foreigner as Somi Kim, 31, who was staying at Room 1017 of Central Park Tower Hotel on Lourdes Street, Balibago, Angeles City.

Hotel workers Ivy Espejo and Jenalyn Mekitpekit have reportedly knocked on the door to inform the Korean she needs to check out but there was no response which prompted them to use the master key to open the door.

Inside they found Kim on the bed unconscious and beside her was a note written in Korean believed to be a suicide note.

Also found in the room were assorted plastic sachets of medicines in Korean character.

The hotel personnel informed the police and rushed Kim to the PRI Hospital.

Upon verification, the doctor said the sachets of medicine recovered in the room were for treatment of lymph nodes and arthritis.

Jaehaek Yang, a consular assistant of the Embassy of Republic of Korea, appeared at the hospital and confirmed the letter was a suicide note and the victim was heartbroken.

Mendoza said the foreigner is now in stable condition.
