A 15-year-old female student drowned while swimming in a river in Tarlac.
The victim was identified as Joyce Ann Garcia, a Grade 8 student and resident of Sitio Gumain, Bgy. Lourdes, Bamban, Tarlac.
The victim’s sister told police they went to swim in the river and her sister failed to come out of the water prompting them to seek help.
The MDRRMO personnel responded and together with the barangay officials retrieved the body of the victim but was declared dead upon arrival at Ospital ng Capas.
Meanwhile in Angeles City, a Korean national was arrested for estafa.
The Angeles police identified the suspect Hyeonwuk Hwang alias “Hyun Uk Hwang,” 38, of Blk. 7, Lot 23, Birch Drive, Forest Park Homes South, Bgy. Pampang, Angeles City.
Angeles City police under Maj. Vicky Tamayo arrested the suspect based on a warrant of arrest issued by the Angeles City RTC for estafa.
