In a remarkable display of community support, the Bataan Baseco Joint Venture Inc. (BBJVI) has generously donated P5.7 million to the Healthy Paaralan Project initiated by the Bataan Provincial Government. The project aims to enhance the learning environment and well-being of students in Mariveles, Bataan.
The substantial donation from BBJVI will have a profound impact on education in the region. The funds were allocated to procure essential equipment, tools, and nutritious meals for students.
BBJVI utilized a portion of the donation to acquire necessary tools and equipment to be used in preparation of nutritious meals for the project.
Recognizing the importance of proper nutrition for academic success, BBJVI allocated funds to provide meals for students for 100 days. A total of 227 students from Baseco Elementary School and 377 students from Barangay Sisiman will benefit from this initiative.
Edgardo “Edgie” S. Ruiz, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of BBJVI, expressed his commitment to the cause. “We believe that investing in education is an investment in our community’s future,” said Ruiz in an interview with 1Bataan News.
“By supporting the Healthy Paaralan Project, we hope to contribute to the holistic development of young minds.”
The kick-off and launching ceremonies held on Wednesday morning was graced by esteemed dignitaries who share a common vision for educational upliftment. Among those present were Bataan Governor Joet Garcia who expressed his gratitude to BBJVI for their unwavering commitment to education, Vice Governor Garcia who emphasized the transformative impact of such initiatives on the lives of students, and Emerson Bautista, chief of staff of Pusong Pinoy Partylist Rep. Jett Nisay who generously supports all the development projects in the Province of Bataan.
Mayor AJ Concepcion, meanwhile, lauded BBJVI’s philanthropic spirit and its alignment with the local government’s goals. The Department of Education (DepEd) Officials also acknowledged the significance of private-sector collaboration in advancing education.
Local barangay leaders of Baseco and Sisiman joined hands with BBJVI to ensure the success of the Healthy Paaralan Project. Board Member Sunga echoed the sentiment that education is the bedrock of progress.
