Subic, Zambales – First District of Cavite Congressman Jolo Revilla graced the Subic Ay! Festival held here on Saturday night.
The representative stood in for his father Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. who is still recovering from an injury in his Achilles tendon.
The Congressman said that his father is on the road to recovery from his recent operation, and he will need three to six months to recover, and six months to one year to make a full recovery. He is asking for prayers for his father’s full recovery from his injury.
The young Revilla said that the Senator continues to do his work, citing that the No Permit, No Exam Prohibition law he authored is now passed, adding that academies and educational institutions should allow students to take the exam even if the student has not paid the fee.
Congressman Revilla and 1st District of Zambales Congressman Jhay Khonghun were in favor of the law and were instrumental in passing the law. Academies and educational institutions that do not comply with the law will be penalized. As for the salary upgrade of government workers, Congressman Jolo said that Senator Bong authored the amended act, citing that government employees will get an increase of their salary.
Senator Bong is the chairman of the Committee on Civil Services. With the amended act on the salary standardisation law, public school teachers, and other government workers will get an increase in their salaries.
“We are waiting for the signature of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr for the increase of the teacher’s chalk allowance,” he said.
The senate ratified the harmonized version of a measure doubling the teaching allowance for public school teachers, also referred to as “chalk allowance,” from P5,000 to P10,000.
