IBA, Zambales — The Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) entrusted a total of 18 pregnant dairy buffaloes to the Masinloc Farmers’ Agriculture Cooperative (MFAC) in Zambales.
PCC Center Director Ericson Dela Cruz said the provision of pregnant dairy buffaloes seeks to improve the livelihood of the member-farmers.
“Milk is really our target to become their additional source of income,” he added.
Prior to the entrustment, the 12 members of MFAC underwent a two-day social preparation training wherein topics discussed included the readiness of the farmers and the dairy buffalo production management.
Cooperative member Christian Tomas Nacin said they are thankful for being entrusted with the pregnant dairy buffaloes.
“These pregnant dairy buffaloes will help improve our livelihood. I sincerely thanked the PCC for giving them as our start-up,” he furthered.
MFAC was a recipient of the Dairy Herd Buildup Program which aims to ensure and accelerate the increase in local dairy stocks and milk production. (CLJD/RGP, PIA Region 3-Zambales)
