​​AC gov’t gets excellence award for health

The City Health Office (CHO) ​of Angeles City ​received multiple recognitions ​from the Department of Health (DOH) Region III in the recently concluded 5th Central Luzon Excellence Awards for Health (CLExAH) held at the Holiday Inn, Clark Freeport in​ Pampanga.

The awards were given for the outstanding support and commitment of the CHO in striving for excellence in the different projects of the DOH.

Angeles City is a consistent recipient of the HIV Pulang Laso Excellence award since 2015. The city’s efforts were lauded for engaging at the DOH’s Millennium Development Goals, Kalusugan Pangkalahatan and High Impact Five Programs which was deemed as the best local government unit for local response, service delivery, and outreach services.

Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan emphasized that having a healthy community is key to having a dynamic community.

“It is our primary goal to give support and attention in the health services that we provide to the Angeleños. Health is an important factor to have a progressive and active city,” Pamintuan said.

The city also received the excellence awards for Preparedness and Response Plan for Water and Foodborne Diseases, one of the Most Active and Supportive Agencies
​.​ Barangay Tabun​ is also​ a finalist in the Regional Search for Barangay with Best Sanitation Practices.

“These recognitions prove that Angeles City is a champion for health services especially now that we have established a renal care unit and an Intensive Cardiac Care Unit (ICCU) which is known as the biggest heart center in Central Luzon,” Pamintuan added.

The Central Luzon Excellence Awards for Health is an award-giving body that commends the efforts of local government health units in Region III.
