ANGELES CITY – Businessmen applying for Contractors Accreditation Board license have been warned against a bogus website support link of the Department of Trade and Industry.
The businesses were urged not to visit the site — “[email protected] — as the contents are fake and false, according to trade and industry officials on Thursday.
“[email protected] is not an official support link of DTI, said DTI3 director Judith Angeles adding the information found in this site is fictitious.
Angeles mentioned one particular item where businessmen are told to attend ISO training as a pre-requisite for their PCAB license.
The DTI regional office 3 issued the warning the wake of reports that businessmen specifically contractors who have visited the website have been complaining on the ISO five-day seminar which is a mandatory requirement before a license be issued.
A PCAB resolution No. 434 which was apparently signed by its members and directors including the chairman, Angeles said is posted in the link but was denied by the PCAB board.
“The PCAB board denied the existing of such resolution and ISO seminar as requirement for license,” added Angeles.
Instead, Angeles said contractors who would like to seek accreditation license are advised to visit the PCAB license processing window situated at the regional government center in Barangay Maimpis, City of San Fernando.
“DTI advised contractors to exercise extra caution and verify from the PCAB before undertaking compliance of application requirements,” said Angeles.
Any information regarding transactions related to this scam may be reported to the nearest PCAB window in the DTI-3 office (Tel No. 6259290 or with the PCAB license office at Tel. No. (02) 895-4220/895-4258.
