Officials from the Provincial Government of Bataan convened with representatives from the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and the Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) to enhance collaboration on sustainable waste management.
This meeting aims to facilitate the transition to alternative waste sites due to the impending closure of the Kalangitan sanitary landfill. Governor Enrique Garcia III was represented by Mr. Abul Khayr Alonto II and Engr. Raphael De Leon.
Bataan is also preparing to open its own engineered sanitary landfill, promoting sustainability in Central Luzon.
